Pawfect Match
Pawfect Match simplifies pet adoption by consolidating local shelter animal profiles into one user-friendly app, reducing the need to visit multiple shelter websites. It features a matching algorithm that evaluates pet personalities and adopter lifestyles, increasing the chances of successful matches and improving the adoption experience for both pets and adopters.
Inspiration
I adopted my dog, Ernie from KC Pet Project. I went into the shelter not entirely sure if I was going to adopt, let alone know what type of dog I wanted. I scanned through the catalog of dogs while a volunteer recommended Ernie. He was the first (and last) dog I met. We instantly connected and soon became inseparable.
Ernie's story shows how empathy and guidance can change lives. Without guidance, he might have been just another unnoticed dog. Ernie inspired me to create this project to highlight the personalities and potential for these animals to find their forever homes.
